Y Vote is an AEGEE project at its 5th edition, having successfully run campaigns in 2009, 2014, 2019, and 2024, with a current edition focusing on youth participation in democracy.
Its goal is to raise awareness among young people about the importance of voting in the European, national and local elections, their role in political activism, and the impact of the European Parliament on their everyday life.
Our activities around the project include:
– Our agenda for Europe where we create a space in order to deepen people’s understanding of the institutions and offer them a space for discussion and debate. Conventions then take place in our AEGEE locals lasting 1 to 4 days. They include thematic workshops and social activities.
–An ambassador’s programme where we encourage young people to engage and participate directly in a pan-Europe campaign around the elections. It is mainly aimed at young people who want to get actively involved in volunteering and organising activities in their community while joining a European campaign and a community of like-minded people.
– The Y vote local actions where we encourage youth people to bring the elections closer to their communities. In 2024, 18 local activities were organized in 9 different countries with more than 350 local participants.
