International students often face challenges when arriving in a new country: administrative barriers, unfamiliar systems, and a tendency to remain within closed peer communities – the so-called “Erasmus bubble” – can prevent full integration into local life.

This Erasmus+ project addresses those challenges by strengthening the inclusion of international students across Europe, ensuring full integration in their host countries and promoting engagement with local communities. It aims to streamline administrative procedures, develop tools and events that foster connections between local and international students, and train key stakeholders in the welcome chain to promote deeper cross-cultural integration.

AEGEE leads Work Package 4, bringing together the project’s learning and impact strand. This includes designing a training event for key stakeholders in the welcome chain – combining peer exchange and non-formal education methods – developing a toolkit to make the training materials available beyond the consortium, evaluating the impact of the project’s activities, and organising a final conference in Brussels to share results at European level.
