On 27th November, the Committee on Culture and Education of the European Parliament adopted the new YES Europe programme for youth, education and sport. This merges all the EU programmes in the field of education, training and sport, as well as Erasmus in the framework of a single programme. AEGEE-Europe brings youth policy into the agenda of its General Assembly

Between 31st October and 4th November, Budapest, Hungary hosted the General Assembly of AEGEE-Europe, the European Students’ Forum. Within the framework of this event, a wide variety of topics have been addressed from lively discussions on the Europe of tomorrow to how young people can contribute to it. More than 800 students gathered together from more than 40 countries for the Autumn Agora Budapest, to discuss the future of the organisation and AEGEE’s role in contributing to the future of the whole continent. Is Europe on the right track? – ‘Europe on Track’ project raises the question

AEGEE-Europe (European Students’ Forum), represented by President Luis Alvarado Martínez, presented its new project ‘Europe on Track’ during a press conference that took place in the morning on 8th November in the European Parliament. Within the framework of this project, in the months of November and December, six young ambassadors from various countries will travel the European continent in order to capture and document the wishes of young people for the year 2020. Youth opinion on the future of Europe: AEGEE-Europe launches “Europe on Track” project

AEGEE-Europe and European youth organisations make a stand for rights and freedom of speech in Russia

On the morning of Monday, September 24th, AEGEE-Europe, through its president Luis Alvarado Martínez, participated in a flashmob-like protest denouncing the violation of freedom of speech and youth rights in Russia, during the opening ceremony of the 9th Council of Europe Conference of Ministers responsible for Youth, in Saint Petersburg. Using the Pussy Riot masks as a symbol of these violations, around 20 youth representatives from International NGOs, including AEGEE, JEF, ESN and Obessu, together with delegates of several National Youth Councils, stood up in silence wearing masks when Peter Matjašič, the president of the European Youth Forum, was reading [...]

AEGEE-Europe’s new board of directors, the Comité Directeur 2012/2013, is determined to give a new direction to Europe’s biggest interdisciplinary students’ forum.
